Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery and potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed.

PADI Wreck Specialty

Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers, or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past. Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life.
Due to the location of the wrecks in Port Elizabeth, this course is combined with a weekend breakaway to Cape Town where we can complete the penetration dives.

What you will learn:

  • Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks
  • Surveying and mapping a wreck
  • Using penetration lines and reels to guide exploration
  • Techniques to avoid kicking up silt or disturbing the wreck and its inhabitants

Pre-requisites:

  • Highly recommended: PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Course 15 years of age
  • PADI  Advanced Diver (or equivalent rating from another training agency)

Duration:

Full Time:  2 – 3  Days
Part Time: 1 evening lecture and 2 weekend ‘s
