Value of the career development program:

Whether you continue working in the diving industry, making use of the endless International job opportunities or spend the year mastering the sport of scuba diving, you will obtain essential skills that can be applied to any profession i.e. confidence, leadership skills , social and life skills and more. Scuba diving is a multifaceted industry with opportunities in instruction, retail, travel, maintenance, skippering, tourism, business management & more!

Course overview:

The course is full time and is conducted over a period of 8 months from January to August and the training starts from entry level courses all the way to Instructor level. Over and above the training courses you will obtain a minimum of 100 dives & gain valuable industry training to improve your job opportunities. If you are unable to commit to either of these dates please contact us as we have other programs scheduled that might accommodate your requirements. The course is based on a 5 day week, however time off is usually during the week as weekends and holidays are peak times for charters and training.

location is Key:

Situated at the coast, we have one of the best training locations in the country due to our diverse diving conditions. You will gain experience in both shore & boat dives with one of the busiest diver training centers in South Africa .

ocean ambassador:

Diving professionals have an important role to play in promoting marine conservation, encouraging responsible diver behaviour and the positive interaction with animals in the marine environment. By working closely with our Marine Biologist, Dr. Shirley Parker-Nance you will expand your knowledge and understanding of the marine environment and animal behaviour.

sardine run:

The Sardine Run action starts in Port Elizabeth in March where the sardines, and their predators, migrate up the Eastern Cape coastline of South Africa. The spectacular sightings of dolphins, sharks, whales, penguins, seals and sea birds is what attracts film crews and divers from around the world. ProDive has been offering this product for over 20 years and the candidates will be privileged to get hands on experience and exposure to this amazing phenomenon.

local travel – prodive plettenberg bay:

During the program you will get to plan, promote and participate in a local dive trip to Plettenberg Bay & dive with ProDive Plett (resort center). A great opportunity get experience in costings, marketing, planning & logistics.

Uniform:

Each student will be issued with clothing that is suitable for on the boat and in the working environment and is to be worn during the training program.

Travel:

ProDive Travel plans International diving trips all over the world based on group and individual requests. Annually we have ProDive groups trips arranged to various destination including Red Sea, Mozambique, Madagscar & more..

During the programme we focus on all the key leadership areas such as self development, team engagement, innovation and strategic thinking. Leadership training benefits the candidates in every aspect of life by improving confidence and communication skills, learning to work with people and developing character. A highlight are our regular fun social evenings where they get to meet the other divers and interact on a social and professional level.
